Mallard Lake Gets a Face lift

It has been a long time since any significant work was put into the lakes and parks in Beaver Creek. In 2022 BCLO put in a basketball court at Teal lake that doubles as a helicopter landing pad, as well as two small playgrounds with playground equipment for the kids of beaver creek.

In 2023 we’re taking things a step further and improving the pond quality so we can ensure our residents who love to fish also have a place they can enjoy fishing safely, and without getting tangled up every time they try to cast out. Mallard lake in particular is an important part of Beaver Creeks image and helps set the tone for what people see when they come into our neighborhood.

Recently BCLO Inc has approved spending to help beautify mallard lake. We have hired a company to come out and clean mallard lake with chemicals, as well as maintain the pond to ensure the growth stays gone. This includes all growth along the banks making it hard to reach the water line. The chemicals are completely safe for humans, and all wildlife. Should anyone want to enter the water after the chemicals have been used, they are safe to do so.

In addition to the beautification of mallard lake, there has been discussion about putting in a fountain and even dying the lake to make it more appealing for the neighborhood. Our preliminary quotes range from $5,000 to $7,500 depending on the features and design that is wanted for the lake. It’s important to note that BCLO Inc has not approved any spending for a fountain, or dye into the lake, but will be discussing this at the upcoming meeting on June 8th, 2023. If you can attend and share your opinions, it would be much appreciated. Additionally, you can comment on this post, and all comments will be read at the board meeting to ensure all opinions, and questions are heard.
