There has been extensive discussion lately regarding the suitability of the basketball court constructed at Teal Lake as a landing spot for helicopters. We have received numerous arguments both outlining whether they can or can not land helicopters at the basketball court pad.
As of May 11, 2023, we have obtained an official response from PHI, and according to them, the pad at Teal Lake Park is more than sufficient for helicopter landings.
To address any concerns about safety or helicopters in general, a representative from PHI will be present at the upcoming monthly meeting on June 8, 2023, held at the firehouse. Additionally, one of our board members, who also serves as our Treasurer, is a distinguished and licensed helicopter pilot and will be available to provide insights and answer questions as well.
Moreover, PHI has kindly offered to land a helicopter at the pad for residents to explore. This opportunity will allow you to take a look inside the helicopter, learn more about their life saving equipment, and meet the pilots who fly them. The specific date for this event is yet to be determined but will be discussed during the regular monthly meeting on June 8, 2023.
